CSI: NY (working title: CSI: New York), is a crime drama-based TV show from CBS. It is also the third installment of the CSI series, the first one being CSI, or CSI: Las Vegas, and the second being CSI: Miami.
The generally blue-toned scenes of CSI: NY presents a darker, colder series. Compared to CSI and CSI: Miami, NY has a more depressing feel to it, emphasized even more in the fact that the lead CSI, Mac Taylor, lost his wife when the Twin Towers fell and is having a hard time forgetting about it. In fact, in one episode, he tells Stella that he didn't want to take his marriage ring off his finger. :(
Still, CSI has its light moments to balance the depressing scenes, such as the occassional bickering of Don Flack and Aiden Burn to the comical enthusiasm of Dr. Sheldon Hawkes with the bodies brought to him. All in all, it's a well-balanced series, focusing on both the cases, the psychological make-up of the criminals behind them, and the feelings of the detectives assigned to it. :)
